In charge of special innovative projects and of the “Software République”, a group of large European companies focusing on creating new businesses.
 
2012-2021: CTO and SVP Innovation, Strategy and Innovation Center - Samsung Electronics - Menlo Park, California
Developed and released ARTIK Cloud, an agnostic data centric open ecosystem for the Internet of Everything. Pioneering the ideas of cloud interoperability and "Small Data" to improve users' experience in the connected World through the development of data analytics, rule engines and machine learning.
 
2011-2012: Director, Siri - Apple, Inc. - Cupertino, California
Co-authored Siri's core patents at SRI International in the late 90's with Siri's co-founder, Adam Cheyer. Grew the team from 40 to 85 people. Reorganized and oversaw all the pieces of Siri: iOS Client and Server Development, Speech, Operation, QA. Added Analytics and Research groups.
 
2010-2011: Chief Technologist - Hewlett-Packard Company, L.P. - San Francisco, California
Designed and implemented the cloud based architecture for all connected printers. Led a global team of about 200 architects and developers to deliver the latest generation of HP products, from back-end to web and embedded clients, using Agile methodologies.
 
2004-2010: Co-Founder and CTO - Orb Networks, Inc. (Acquired by Qualcomm [NASDAQ: QCOM]) - Oakland, California
Invented "Place Shifting" by creating an ubiquitous, multiplatform system for retrieval, access and streaming of multimedia assets, with agnostic transcoding and transrating capabilities - Led the design and development of numerous Windows, Mac, Linux as well as iPhone, Android or WinCE product lines.
 
2000-2007: Co-Founder - Soliloquy Learning (Acquired by Scientific Learning [NASDAQ: SCIL]) - Union City, California
Pioneered the Reading Assistant that combines advanced speech recognition technology with scientifically-based interventions to help kids strengthen their reading fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. The Reading Assistant has been successfully implemented in more than 1,000 schools in the U.S. since 2001.
 
2000-2010: Co-Founder and VP R&D - BravoBrava! LLC - Union City, California
Created this tech incubator to focus on new interfaces for education, multimodal and multimedia products. Started spin-offs and sister companies: Soliloquy Learning, AgileTV, SpeaKESL, Orb Networks.
 
1998-2000: Co-Founder and Director, Computer Human Interaction Center - SRI International - Menlo Park, California
Pushed for innovative computer human interaction and rapid prototyping. We built the first smart fridge, smart car and many more cool projects...
 
1996-1998: Research Engineer, Speech Technology And Research Laboratory - SRI International - Menlo Park, California
Led speech related projects and demonstrations, as well as web interface designs. Co-Founded Nuance Communications (now World leader in Speech Recognition [NASDAQ: NUAN]).
